Record waste, staff meals, comps, and returns
Staff app: Settings → Stock → Log waste. For staff authorised to record
stock consumption. Confirm the location and what physically happened.
| Type | Use for |
|---|
| Waste | Spoilage, expiry, damage, overproduction, spillage, breakage, line clean, or another recorded loss |
| Staff meal | Goods consumed as a staff meal |
| Comp | Goods consumed without a normal charge |
| Return | Goods sent back to the supplier, with the related credit claim |
Select the item, displayed quantity unit, amount, reason, and useful notes.
Check bottles, cases, and base units carefully; the entry is the quantity
removed, not a replacement for current stock. Select the corresponding logging
action and verify the success result and stock activity.
Return goods to a supplier
Return requires purchasing rights and a supplier. Select the correct supplier,
returned quantity, reason, and relevant photos, then Send back to supplier.
Review the resulting Supplier credit and physical
return. A return leaves stock and raises a claim rather than ordinary waste. The
claim still needs its own supplier follow-up.
Rejected goods at delivery that never entered stock belong in the
receiving rejection flow. Do not also log those same goods
as waste or return them from stock. Likewise, check an order's existing
cancellation/consumption record before recording another stock loss.
Read any validation beside the logging action. Select the actual item and a
positive quantity; a return also needs the correct supplier. Do not change the
physical outcome just to make the form submit.
If saving has an uncertain result, check the existing movement and claim before
repeating it. If the role lacks the action, ask the authorised stock lead.
Escalate with location, item, unit, quantity, physical outcome, related
order/delivery reference, and exact error; keep photos free of personal records.
