Set up location rota settings
Console: Team → Rotas → Settings. Confirm the working location. The current
restaurant settings include Shift templates, Staffing guides, Labour
target, Scheduling rules, and Automations. Platform-only settings are
outside this guide.
Shift templates
Use Add shift template, Create my own, or Add lunch and dinner.
Check the start and end, overnight indication, breaks, area, working days, and
minimum staffing. The starter Lunch/Dinner times are examples; edit them to
match your service, then save at the bottom of the page.
Template changes affect rotas built from then on. They do not rewrite an
existing planned week. Deleting a template removes that pattern; the
confirmation says rotas already built from it are unchanged.
Staffing guides
A guide associates an area and service with covers per person and a minimum
headcount. Use the same names as shift templates and booking services. Add
manually when history is limited, or Use suggestions and review each
proposed guide before Save staffing guides.
Each area/service combination should be unique, covers per person positive, and
minimum staffing within the form's bounds. Historical suggestions need review
for special events, menu changes, and unusual demand. No guide does not prevent
planning; it means the planner cannot suggest that headcount.
Labour target and scheduling rules
Set a Labour target percentage or leave No target. It compares estimated
staff cost with net sales; it does not block publication. Missing staff pay
rates can make the comparison incomplete.
In Scheduling rules, review the rule's name, type, value and unit, staff
scope, and whether a breach should block, warn, or be logged. Regional presets
are configurable starting points. They do not verify the restaurant's current
obligations or guarantee that every schedule complies. Have the responsible
manager review the configuration and any findings before publishing.
Automations
The page separates planning tasks, messages to the team, and service alerts.
Examples include Automatic draft, Publish reminder, Shift reminder,
Late and no-show alerts, Missed clock-out, Call-out offers, and
Live service advice. Check local times, thresholds, recipients, and which
options send charged texts before switching them on. Use Save automations.
Automatic drafting prepares a plan for review; it does not publish it. Call-out
offers contact staff, so configure their wave size and timing deliberately. Do
not enable messaging merely to test the setting.
After each settings save, reopen the same tab and verify the result. Discard
changes drops unsaved edits, not a previous tab's already-saved update. If
loading or saving fails, preserve current settings, check the error, and retry
without replacing the location's setup from an empty error view.
