Read recipes in the kitchen cookbook
For chefs and kitchen staff. Console: Stock → Recipes → Cookbook. This is a
reading view of the business's active recipes. Opening a recipe does not start a
prep batch or record ingredient consumption.
- Search the recipe name. Use Category or Allergen to narrow the list.
- Check the recipe name, displayed yield, ingredient count, description, and
linked menu item. Nutrition appears only when recorded.
- Open the recipe card to inspect its ingredients, quantities, units, and
preparation information. Compare with the kitchen's verified recipe and
current supplier labels before use.
- Use the separate Prep list to record actual batch production,
or Recipe setup for authorised recipe changes.
Interpret the filters carefully
Allergen finds recipes with that recorded allergen; it does not filter for
safe-to-serve or free-from dishes. Category relates to ingredient
categories, not necessarily the guest-facing menu category.
An absent allergen badge or nutrition value is not evidence that an ingredient
is absent or safe for a guest. Verify all ingredients and sub-recipes, current
supplier information, and the kitchen's handling process. Ask the responsible
chef when information is incomplete; do not resolve uncertainty by changing a
badge or accepting a generated claim.
A recipe is missing
Clear search, category and allergen filters first. Check the saved recipe's
active status and the working business. No recipes match differs from an
empty cookbook. If data did not load, restore the connection and confirm the
query result before creating another recipe.
Create your first recipe leads to recipe management. Creating a recipe alone
does not attach it to a menu item, establish opening stock, or finish a batch.
Check the relevant stock and menu links.
Escalate with recipe, business/location, filters, saved status, disputed
ingredient or unit, and exact error. Keep guest dietary/contact records in
authorised channels. Review recipe changes with the kitchen before the next
service.
