Set up devices, printers, and prep stations
For the manager and kitchen lead. Choose Settings → Location settings at the
correct working location. Configure devices, printers, and prep stations before
a safe routing test agreed with the shift leader.
POS devices
In Devices, select Add device, name it, and use How to connect a
device. The supported flow uses the device identifier or secure connection QR
and verification through the configured location/custom mobile. Keep device
credentials and connection codes private.
Review General, Defaults, Security, and Kiosk settings as applicable. Check
default employee, floor plan, and printer deliberately. Disabling time tracking
changes clock behaviour on that device. Kiosk configuration includes permitted
order types, card provider, terminal, tip screen, idle timeout, and protected
exit.
Revoke session, Revoke all, deactivation, and deletion can sign devices
out. Inspect active work and pending sync before using them. An online indicator
alone does not verify printer access or payment-provider readiness.
Printers
In Printers, select Add printer and review protocol, interface,
connection address/identifier, command language, assigned POS device, and paper
settings. The connected device sends jobs; a configured printer without its host
device will not work. Do not copy another restaurant's settings or publish real
device addresses in screenshots.
Configure cash-drawer connection and supported auto-open payment methods where
applicable. Receipt printing and kitchen preparation routing are separate uses.
Save settings, then use the staff app's printer checks and test print. See
Printer recovery for connectivity and queue issues.
Prep stations
Open Prep stations, select Add station, name it, and assign its printer
and item categories. Review category order, Hide category headers, ticket
messages, Print multiple copies, and copies per order, then save.
The unassigned-category warning states that those items will not print. Verify
the menu item's category as well as the station assignment. A
printer's network address does not determine which food category reaches it.
Under Kitchen display, set the intended bump mode, ticket steps, warning and
alert times, and secondary language. See
Kitchen display for staff operation. Timer colour is
a configured attention cue, not proof the food is ready or unsafe.
Verify and recover
Announce a safe representative test. Check the correct location/order, station,
items/choices and notes, number of copies, printer, and displayed ticket state.
Coordinate with the kitchen before reprinting so it is not prepared twice.
Deleting a printer or station can require rerouting devices and categories. Read
confirmations and inspect affected service first. After an uncertain save,
reopen existing configuration before creating replacements.
