Review and close an accounting period
Console: Reports → Month end. For the authorised stock/accounting reviewer.
This closes an accounting period; it is separate from the staff app's
Close daily trading-day workflow.
Review readiness
Choose the intended configured period and check dates and business scope.
Inspect Approved full count, Counts awaiting approval, Invoices not
yet approved, and Credits still being chased. The screen shows the
required recent-count interval and blocking versus review findings.
Complete and approve the necessary counts for every place, review invoices and
credit claims, and inspect valuation. Do not replace missing counts with a
guessed zero or approve unresolved paperwork merely to clear the checklist.
Confirm the close
Use Close period, read the confirmation, and select Close the period
only after review. The operation freezes valuation, posts the closing journal,
and locks the period. Counts and invoices dated inside the locked period can no
longer be approved through their ordinary flows.
Verify Closed, its value, the frozen valuation's coverage, and the journal
outcome. A confirmation click alone is not proof that the period closed.
Journal failed or outcome is uncertain
The screen can say the period was valued but the accounting system did not
accept the journal, so it remains Open. Inspect the same period and error;
follow its supported retry instruction after resolving the issue. Do not create
another period or independently post a duplicate journal as a workaround.
If something was missed after closing, ask the authorised accounting/support
reviewer about the supported reopen process. Do not backdate a replacement or
change another record's date just to evade the lock.
Escalate with period, business/locations, readiness findings, valuation scope,
observed Open/Closed status, journal result, and exact error through an
authorised channel. Keep accounting exports and provider credentials private.
