Prepare and hand over guest benefits
For the restaurant manager and shift leader. Agree the benefit, eligibility,
limits, timing, availability, and staff instructions before making it live.
| Need | Guide | Verify |
|---|
| Discount an eligible order | Promotions | Trigger, scope, schedule, limit, and final total |
| Reward repeat behaviour | Loyalty programme | Saved earning and reward rules, validity, and member balance |
| Commit to a future-booking benefit | Guest promises | Clear terms, claim deadline, booking attachment, and fulfilment |
| Use a prepaid card | Gift cards | Eligible card and verified balance transaction |
| Charge an agreed corporate account | House accounts | Active account, agreed credit access and terms |
These records are different. A promise acknowledgement does not apply a POS
discount, a loyalty member is not necessarily subscribed to marketing, and
activating a house account does not establish that its bill was paid.
Before communication
Check the guest-facing wording and actual saved configuration. A promotion's
internal description does not publish its terms. Review the restaurant's
marketing audience and consent before sending an offer.
Prepare the booking or ordering path and train the shift team to recognise the
benefit and fulfil it once.
Keep return-visit benefits separate from review requests. Do not promise a
reward for posting, changing, or removing feedback. Review guest replies
privately through Reviews when eligible.
At service and handover
Read the attached benefit or eligibility rules before applying it. Verify the
right guest, location, order, and time. Record actual fulfilment only after
providing the benefit, then check any separate order/payment action.
Resolve mismatches with the authorised shift leader rather than changing a
shared live setting at the till. Preserve the affected records and exact error.
