# Configure table combinations

**Console: Settings → Location settings → Table combinations.** For the manager
configuring larger-party seating. Choose the location and physically joinable
tables before changing automatic reservation setup.

1. Select **Add** or **Add combination**.
2. Choose the tables that form the combination and review the calculated
capacity. Set a custom capacity only when it matches the actual joined setup.
3. Verify the saved combination, its component tables, and each table's
   **Automatic table use** mode.
4. Check the intended booking size, service, and availability through the
supported booking flow. A saved combination does not prove the tables are
   conflict-free at that time.

A red-dot/not-individually-bookable indicator concerns automatic individual use.
It does not prevent staff explicitly selecting a free component table. **In
configured combinations only** depends on configured combinations; **Staff
selection only** excludes automatic use while retaining free-table staff
selection. See
[Reservation settings](/tables-layout/terminals#reservation-settings).

Moving drawings together on a [floor plan](/tables-layout/floor-plans) does not
create a reservation combination. Conversely, the configuration does not
physically move furniture or establish a safe joined capacity.

Review existing assignments before deleting or changing a combination. Do not
alter shared setup merely to resolve one table conflict; use the authorised
staff booking flow and check physical suitability.

If a combination does not appear as expected, check location, component records,
automatic mode, capacity, and conflicts. Reopen after an uncertain save.
Escalate with the combination, tables, requested party/time, and exact result.
