# Receive a transfer between locations

Transfers move recorded stock between locations in the same business. **Console:
Stock → Transfers. Staff app: Settings → Stock → Transfers.** The Console's main
navigation shows Transfers for businesses with multiple locations. Staff actions
also depend on transfer permissions.

## Check dispatch

Open the existing transfer. Check **From**, **To**, items, units, and **Sent
Qty**. A transfer awaiting approval has not dispatched stock. The reviewer can
**Approve** after checking the request, or **Reject** with a reason. Approval
dispatches stock from the source. The destination receives an **In transit**
transfer after checking the physical delivery.

## Receive the actual quantities

1. Work in the destination location and open the incoming transfer.
2. Count the goods and compare their units with each sent line.
3. In the staff app, edit **Received** for shortages or damage; enter zero for
an item that did not arrive. Quantities must be between zero and the quantity
sent. Ask the sending location to resolve unexpected excess goods.
4. With a connection and transfer rights, select **Confirm receipt**.
5. Reopen the transfer, check its recorded received quantities and status, then
verify the destination's stock and movement history.

The Console's **Receive All** records every line's full sent quantity. Use it
only when the full delivery arrived in usable condition. For differences, use
the staff app's quantity review and keep the shortage evidence.

## If receipt is unavailable

Check that you are at the destination, the transfer is **In transit**, you have
transfer rights, and the device is online. An outgoing transfer is not yours to
receive. A pending approval needs the authorised reviewer first.

If the form asks for a quantity from zero up to the amount sent, correct the
received quantity on that line. A receipt error is not proof that no stock
moved; inspect the original transfer before another confirmation.

Do not create a second transfer to retry an uncertain receipt. Reopen the
original and check its received quantities and stock movements. Do not cancel a
dispatched transfer merely to explain missing goods; agree the physical and
recorded correction with the stock lead.

Escalate with both locations, transfer reference, sent and actual quantities,
units, time, and the exact error.
