# Order from a saved guide

**Console: Stock → Order guides.** An order guide is a reusable purchase-order
template for a location. It does not place an order or receive stock by itself.

1. Select **New guide**, enter a useful name, and choose the supplier.
2. Add the items and their usual quantities. Check each pack and supplier price.
3. Choose **Default guide for this supplier** only if this should replace the
location's existing default for that supplier. Select **Save guide**.
4. Open the guide and select **Create PO**. Add the expected delivery and notes,
   then select **Create purchase order**.
5. Open the new purchase order and review today's quantities, costs, supplier,
and destination. Follow its approval and supplier-sending workflow.

Use **Edit → Save changes** when a usual order changes. **Copy to Location**
creates another location's guide with the same items and supplier; review the
copy against that location's needs. Copying does not move stock.

If a supplier product is missing, check its active supplier catalogue link and
pack. Do not choose an unrelated product just to complete the guide. Review
quantities each time: a typical order may be wrong for a quiet day or private
event.

See [Purchase orders](/guides/purchase-orders) for ordering and receipt.
