# Configure local service and reporting settings

**Console: Settings → Location settings → General.** Confirm the working
location and your permissions. Shared business currency/identity and local
service configuration are different records.

## Location and public information

Review location name, type/categories, time zone, device-login contact, and
**Accounting Profile** used for local documents. **Site details** contains
public information such as description, contact, website/social links, and Place
ID. Keep staff-login contact and guest-facing contact distinct. Use the
restaurant's own verified details, not another location's defaults.

## Ordering and service

A channel must be **Allowed** by TablePort before the location can switch it
**On**. An unavailable channel is not enabled by changing a terminal or URL.
Open each offered channel for its settings and test its intended flow.

| Control | Check |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Dine-in rounds and seat numbers | Intended pacing and dish-to-seat behaviour |
| Guest screen for card payments | What the guest sees during reader payment |
| Auto-complete | Supported completion behaviour; not proof an uncertain payment succeeded |
| Table time / warning threshold | Configured service attention cue, not actual departure |
| Counter catalogue layout | Full-catalogue versus curated-menu staff browsing |
| Show stock countdowns | Visibility of portions; hiding it does not stop tracking or sold-out warnings |
| Hide currency symbol on menus | Guest price display; bills retain their currency context |

Review **Service charge & tips**, displayed rate, and card-tip prompting mode
(Off, Auto before, or Manual). Check actual guest totals and the restaurant's
agreed policy before enabling changes; the setting is not proof of collection or
distribution.

## Hours, direct orders, and feedback

**Opening hours** and the cutoff before closing affect supported ordering.
Reservation shifts/special dates and delivery hours have their own controls;
verify the relevant channel rather than assuming one schedule changes all of
them. Direct pickup/restaurant-managed delivery settings can separate staff
acceptance from preparation; existing orders and marketplace workflows keep
their own rules.

Review **Enable reviews**, required/optional questions, custom Stars or Yes/No
questions, and **Reset questions**. Blank overrides use current system wording.
The optional Google action is offered equally after submitted private reviews;
check Place ID and the actual thank-you flow. Use [Reviews](/customers/reviews).

## Reports and stock routine

Under **Daily report & manager email**, review **Enforce time tracks ended** and
up to 20 **Manager report recipients**. Empty recipients disable automatic
email. Delivery after close must be checked separately. **Service shifts** split
reports; they do not replace reservation arrival shifts.

**Business statistics** contains default hourly/item costs, operating days,
monthly overheads and targets. Defaults make estimates where actual data is
missing; a shown reference benchmark is not a universal business recommendation.
Check source records before using estimates for accounting or payroll.

Review stock count cadence/day and supplier price-alert threshold against the
restaurant's agreed process. A reminder or threshold does not perform a count or
approve a supplier price.

## Save and verify

Fix highlighted fields, save the intended changes, then reopen the same location
and test affected guest/staff views safely. Preserve current configuration after
failed loading; do not save an empty fallback. Escalate with location, section,
intended change, saved state and error, keeping personal/financial data private.
