# Find your way around TablePort

Use the **Console** to configure the restaurant, manage records, and investigate
reports. Use the **Staff app** for service on the floor, payments, kitchen work,
and daily opening and closing. Your role and the selected location determine
which tools you see.

## In the Console

Select the business and working location before opening location-specific pages.
The main navigation groups jobs together:

| Area | Use it for |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Dashboard | Review the business and current service |
| Service | Bookings, orders, floor plans, and tables at the selected location |
| Menu | Catalogue items, option groups, and promotions |
| Guests | Members, reviews, enquiries, loyalty, gift cards, and house accounts |
| Marketing | Campaigns, restaurant website, and insights |
| Stock | Daily stock work and the items, recipes, and suppliers behind it |
| Team | Employees, scheduling, and time tracking |
| Reports | Daily reports, analytics, and stock or menu reports |
| Settings | Location and business configuration, integrations, and access |

Website, marketing, and settings pages have their own focused navigation.
Cross-location tools appear where the business has multiple locations.

## If the business does not open

Wait for sign-in to finish and confirm the intended account and business.
**Couldn’t load this business** offers **Try again** after checking the
connection. A sign-in redirect needs normal authentication; an access-denied
screen needs the business owner to check your access. Do not use another
person’s account to get past it.

Some sections also depend on the business’s enabled features and billing setup.
Use [Business billing](/payments/billing) for a platform billing requirement and
[Payment setup](/payments/payment-setup) for guest payment acceptance. Check the
selected business before completing either setup.

## In the Staff app

**Dine In** is the floor and table-service workspace. **Takeout** handles
outgoing orders. **Stats** shows the trading day and its report, including daily
controls for authorised operators. **Settings** contains printers, histories,
location and device settings, sync status, and stock workflows. The employee
workspace shows personal shift information and clock actions. Dine In, Takeout,
and Settings require order-management access. Stats needs report viewing or
daily-management access; daily controls have their own permission checks.

On compact screens, recognise the tab icons as well as the selected screen
title. Wider screens can show labels alongside the icons.

## If your screen looks different

Check your role, working location, device mode, and app release with a manager.
A guide for a manager's setup task may include controls unavailable to a server.
Do not change permissions or use someone else's account just to match a
screenshot.

## Find help during service

Search for the job or symptom, such as “printer stopped”, “opening float”, or
“close daily”. Start at [Fix a problem](/troubleshooting) when something is
blocking service. See [Daily operations](/guides/daily-operations) for routine
tasks and [Daily reports](/daily-reports) for report details.

Agents have a separate [integration reference](/agents). Restaurant operating
guides do not imply that an assistant can carry out the same actions.
