# Set up a house account

**Console: Guests → House accounts.** For the authorised manager maintaining
corporate or regular business accounts. Search the existing account and check
status and credit filters before adding a new one.

1. Select **Add house account**. In **Details**, enter the account name, active
status, and the billing address used by the restaurant.
2. In **Contact**, add the correct authorised contact information.
3. In **Billing**, choose **Allow credit** only when the restaurant has agreed
that this account can pay on credit. Without it, the account must pay at
   purchase.
4. Set the agreed **Credit limit**, **Payment terms**, and **Pay day** where
applicable. A blank credit limit means no limit, not zero credit.
5. Select **Create account** or **Save changes**, then reopen and verify the
saved settings before staff use it.

Account activation and permission to charge on credit are separate settings. Do
not enable either merely to complete a guest's unpaid order. Have the
responsible manager verify the account and restaurant's billing agreement.
Statistics show recorded orders and lifetime value; they are not proof that an
invoice or outstanding balance has been paid.

**Discard** drops unsaved edits. **Delete this house account?** makes it
unavailable for charging to account while past orders and billing history stay
on record. Review outstanding business handling before confirming deletion.

After an uncertain save, reopen the existing account before repeating creation.
Escalate with account reference, intended terms, observed settings, and error.
Keep account contact and billing details within authorised access.
